Grant Thornton, the major international accountacy firm, has retained Planet Wise for a third successive year. An arm of Grant Thornton’s operation involves providing volunteer placements whereby staff give time to good causes around the world.
Planet Wise helped to develop the initial pre-departure briefing day and educational material for those travelling overseas, and worked closely with Grant Thornton and their supplier organisation to ensure the success of this project. The project is now in its third year and Planet Wise will again be running its pre-trip training course for those volunteering.
Being a firm of accountants, it was natural for our approach to be cautious and “risk aware”, to say the least!
Planet Wise engaged with us completely from the pre-planning stage of our project and provided the firm with invaluable advice and expertise. Planet Wise enabled us to identify any potential risks for our staff and offered advice on travel, safety and security, raising employee awareness to potential dangerous situations, both from a group and an individual perspective. Planet Wise has held engaging and interactive sessions in our pre-planning process, allaying any fears the group might have had and answering questions with a very solid and practical insight into what their journey and volunteering experience may entail.
We are grateful to Mark [Hide, Planet Wise Managing Director] for the work he has done with us and saw this as a key element in the group’s preparations.
